Q: Please tell us a great story about your business, your experiences and the gritty back-story of your journey and why your business or products are your passion.
A:Growing with a grandmother who loved to cook, had both pecan trees and a hair salon on her property, provided the foundation for what we do at Sassy Pecan. Our stories are slight modifications of the ones heard from salon regulars and family (changed to protect us). Creating desserts for gatherings was the norm and, pecans? They're the staple of Southern dishes. We learned to pick, shell, and cook with pecans picked up from the trees in grandmother's yard. It was only natural to build our own creations around the sweet buttery pecans we grew up with. Our flavors are carefully crafted from desserts we learned to make with grandmother. From Blackberry Cobbler to Southern French Toast. And just like her, we use real ingredients to ensure flavors are just like the dish they're created for. So join us at our dessert table. You'll be glad you did.
Q: What has been your biggest success?
A:Making an appearance at the Minnesota State Fair within the first year of business with Sticky Doohickeys!
Q: What has been your biggest struggle?
Q: What's your niche?
A: Our ability to create flavors and product channels with our toffees.
Q: Where do you see the retail industry in ten years?
A: Not so much big box brick and mortar. Online will continue to rise for certain products but the consumer still enjoys unique and the ability to connect the past with present and future. We plan on being right in the middle of it.
